Friday 1st January - COVID update
Dear Parents/carers,
As you will be aware, over the Christmas holidays Peterborough moved into Tier 4 with confirmed cases of the virus rising well above the national average.
The government has instructed most primary schools in England to open as usual next week.Middleton Primary School will open on Tuesday for all pupils
As the risk of transmission has increased dramatically, we ask that parents wear a face covering at all times whilst on school premises unless you have a medical exemption. Please maintain your social distance as you move through the school grounds.
When approaching the classrooms, please remain outside the square boxes outside each classroom door. Teachers should be contacted via email or phone for individual concerns and discussions.
Good ventilation is essential to reduce the risk of transmission and children must come to school dressed in warm clothes. Windows will need to remain open to ensure there is adequate ventilation in the classrooms and corridors.
Please be assured we will continue to do all we can to protect both children and staff in school. If children do need to self isolate, work will continue to be provided online and devices are available to support with this.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding during these difficult times.

No child will go hungry in Peterborough this half term – City Council pledges
After the government's decision not to continue to fund free school meals over the holidays, the City Council is reminding residents that all those that are struggling to cope with basic essentials (including food and other supplies) during this pandemic can contact the Peterborough City hub for help and advice. The hub will offer support and direction to other sources of help. This offer includes families who may be struggling but are not eligible for free school meals. You can contact the hub on 01733 747474
