‘Games club’ is a parent and child club available for the two reception classes, Owls and Robins. It is run by Owls class teacher Mrs Carnegie, on a Wednesday afternoon at 2.45pm.
We recognise the importance of playing games and the skills involved; sharing, turn taking, speaking and listening, forward thinking and strategy etc., and so we have created this club to offer an opportunity for families to come and spend some quality time together.
Our parents and children enjoy choosing from a wide variety of games and jigsaws, which were donated by staff and friends of Middleton Primary school.
We offer a ‘games library service’. The children and parents choose an activity to share for the session, and can borrow the game or jigsaw, or choose a different one to take home for the week. The following week they return the activity and play and choose a new one.
We have lots of fun, and one of our parents said, “This is a great opportunity to have time with my daughter, as home life always seems so hectic”.
